Jazz, ballet, and tap classes are organised by age.  Dancers improve their skill level and learn new things from year to year – teachers design the class to suit the individuals within it and build upon past experiences, skills and learning.

  

If a dancer is 18 months – 3 years old, this class is suitable:  

4   Parent/Caregiver and Tot Dance (child must be accompanied by an adult, or a teen 16 years or older) NEW THIS YEAR!   

 

If a dancer is 3-5 years old, these classes are suitable: 

4      Pre-Jazz

4      Pre-Ballet

4      Pre-Dance (Jazz & Ballet)

4      Mini-Tap (4½ years old minimum)*  

 

If a dancer is 6-8 years old, these classes are suitable: 

4      Mini Jazz

4      Mini Ballet

4      Mini Tap or Junior Tap*

 

If a dancer is 9-11 years old, these classes are suitable:

4      Junior Jazz

4      Junior Ballet

4      Junior Tap or Teen Tap*

 

If a dancer is 12 years and older, these classes are suitable:

4      Teen Jazz

4      Teen Ballet

4      Pointe – must also registered in teen ballet

4      Teen Tap*  

 

For adults and older teens, these classes are suitable: 

4      Adult Ballet

4      Adult Jazz/Hip Hop

4      Adult Tap*

 

MINI PERFORMANCE: 

4  Ages 6 to 8 - Students will take Jazz and Ballet, and to round out their training, take either Irish Dance and/or Tap Dance. Students will perform and compete throughout the tri-cities area and beyond.

 

 

*   Tap age range per level is organised a bit differently than the others classes - please check with the SSDC office.
